Who We Are
Promoting linguistic inclusion from early childhood
We are WorldHands, a non-profit organization created with the purpose of transforming linguistic inclusion from early childhood. Our mission is to democratize access to Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) through technology, education, and care. We believe that communication is a universal right and that every child deserves to be understood, heard, and included. Since the official recognition of Libras in 2002, the Deaf community has fought not only for the enforcement of the law, but for genuine social and everyday recognition. WorldHands emerges as a response to this call: to build a more accessible future, starting from childhood.
Mission
Towards a more inclusive Brazil
Our mission is to ensure that every child can express themselves and be understood, using technology as a bridge to inclusion. We believe that learning Brazilian Sign Language from an early age is not just a skill, but an act of empathy, equity, and social transformation.
Empathy
To understand others with sensitivity, embracing different forms of communication and valuing each individual experience.
Inclusion
To ensure that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has equal opportunities to participate and express themselves in society.
Innovation
To apply creative and technological solutions to make the teaching of Brazilian Sign Language more dynamic, accessible, and effective.
Objectives
Educating to include, teaching to transform.
WorldHands' core objective is the development, strengthening, and expansion of a bilingual educational application (Portuguese–Libras), designed to teach Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) in a playful, accessible, and interactive way. More than teaching signs, we seek to promote social inclusion, combat illiteracy in Libras, and consolidate the recognition of Libras as a fundamental linguistic right, especially in early childhood. Among our specific objectives, we highlight:
- Teaching Libras to children aged 6 to 12: through educational videos, interactive games, and child-friendly characters, we aim to offer an engaging and effective introduction to Libras, with future expansion to other age groups.
- Valuing Deaf culture and promoting diversity: our actions are aligned with fostering respect for Deaf identity and building a more plural, empathetic, and inclusive society.
- Training multipliers: we invest in the training of educators, volunteers, and community leaders who will act as agents of transformation in their regions, using our application as a pedagogical tool.
- Continuous innovation in accessibility and educational technology: we constantly improve our gamification resources, digital accessibility, and adaptive intelligence to ensure the best possible learning experience.
We believe that teaching Libras is ultimately about nurturing empathy, respect, and human connection.

How It Works
1Learning journey
Children follow an educational path with themes and subcategories. Each block begins by showing what will be learned, followed by a video with our mascot that teaches Libras signs in a playful way. Then there are two games to reinforce the content.

Review and quizzes
At the end of each theme, children review with games that mix what they have learned, helping consolidate knowledge. After completing the three main themes, they can take a quiz to check understanding and reinforce learning.
Rewards
Each completed game and activity earns XP that raises the child’s ranking in the app. They can also earn up to three stars per game, which can be spent on accessories for the mascot and items to customize their profile.
Daily practice and offline
The app offers daily games with short activities so children can practice regularly, increasing XP and rank. It also works offline, so it can be used anywhere, even without an internet connection.
