WorldHands Embassies
Connecting schools to Brazilian Sign Language
WorldHands Embassies are initiatives carried out in schools, institutions, and partner projects across different regions of Brazil. Through the Libras Day Event and other educational activities, our team and volunteers visit these spaces, which then become active hubs for promoting linguistic inclusion. The activities bring together elementary and middle school students, educators, and school communities, introducing them to Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) while strengthening empathy, respect for diversity, and the right to communication within the Deaf community. In an interactive, accessible, and playful way, Libras Day provides a first contact with Libras, engaging families and the broader school community and integrating these institutions into WorldHands’ network of social impact and inclusive education.
